Trell has 100 million users and 12 million monthly active content creators generating 30 million content pieces every month. The customer base is largely regional and is spread across ten languages

My role : Product Designer | Design Director

Problem

  1. The existing design is outdated. Since this was their first design, many areas were not carefully designed.

  2. Discoverability Issues, Users are not able to find some of the features which are actually important.

  3. The interface needs to align with the new Trell Brand guideline as well as the new business goal.

  4. Iconography and all UI elements need to redesign.

Create app Revamp

Create an app used for shooting videos around your passion with exciting filters, reaction makers, and multiple cool editing tools to choose from. Share your stories and experiences to become a famous influencer.

Constraints

We use the Meishe SDK software development kit for the backend. Meishe SDK is committed to solving the technical threshold of mobile video development so that programmers with only Android interface development experience can develop video recording and editing functions with excellent performance and rich rendering effects.

Ideate

Ensures the product is usable. This can include everything from discoverability to workflow coherence, from solving actual user goals to designing a beautiful UI.

  1. Adapt to the natural way of recording content for creating vlogs.

  2. Minimize post-processing time/efforts. 

  3. Reduce reliance on third-party applications and tools for the content creation process.

  4. To make the video creation process engaging and less time-consuming.

Target User 

  1. The majority of Trell's audience (31.5%) is from the 25 to 34 years age group. Users age 18 to 24 years are behind marginally (30.1%).

  2. Creators who don’t have access or cannot afford - a high-quality camera (DSLR etc.), good production setup or lighting, minimal knowledge of camera angles, and position to shoot a good clip. 

  3. Creators who rely on multiple tools/equipment during their creation journey. Separate recording tool, editor tool, and rendering tool.
